About Our MembersIn Alberta, each school board is charged with the responsibility to govern the affairs of the school authority under the Education Act. Each board is generally comprised of between 5-10 individual trustees who are elected by, and accountable to, the communities they serve. Elected by their urban, metro and rural communities, boards understand the challenges faced by students and families. |

ASBA celebrated the outstanding achievements of 12 First Nations, Métis and Inuit students at its 2025 Honouring Spirit: Indigenous Student Award ceremony, held on April 14 at the Queen Elizabeth II Building.
